The prom dress tends to be the centerpiece of your whole look, while everything else – from hair to makeup, to what your date wears – revolves around the dress. Some of the hot, new trends are ruffles, tier lace, hi-low hemlines, mermaid silhouettes, and even sequins and feathers. Although, styles like the ball gown and Greek goddess, never go out of style. And for those of us who aren’t blessed with height, think short. Short dresses are hotter and better than ever!

To help initiate this inspiration, Prom Fashion Asheville, Wedding Inspirations, and Lights Out, held the 1^st annual Prom Fashion Show & After Party! The event took place at The Venue in downtown Asheville on Saturday, January 28^th.Attendees were able to meet and chat with makeup and hair artist, pick out their limo, and explore unique floral options during the vendor expo portion of the event, which took place prior to the show! The Fashion Show began at 8pm and featured a variety of the hottest new looks for 2012! Prom dress styles featured wild animal prints, sequins, neon colors and all silhouettes were highlighted on the runway. Models had a blast showing off the dresses as they waved their ribbon wands and puckered up for the camera as they stopped to strike a pose! The Fashion show came to a close with guest performances by singer DezMr828 and dancers Carolyn & Rachel Greenan!

The After Party featured a dance and some tasty treats for attendees to take part in. Sweet Ohh La La displayed a fabulous self serve candy bar, while yummy beverages rimmed in sprinkles were passed around! The after party lasted until midnight and was a huge hit. Make sure you mark your calendars for next year! You don't want to miss it!
